I Know you Are but What am I?

Wow, I got 5 paintings done in about 1 week. What a fun project! These are for the art show "I know you are but what am I" put together by Valerie Lewis (check out her blog, amazing work!http://www.valewis.com/) and the Violethour gallery in Fullerton. A bunch of us artists are putting work in. Many are art teachers too, and as art teachers we start collecting artwork from our students and admiring their absurd ideas and fantastic creativity that many of us lose later on. My goal in life is to try to keep that alive through continuing to create. This art show is about taking these students works, and bringing them to life in our own way. I like how our friend Spencer put it, he said "it's as if kids had an art degree". I have included both the kids work and my own. Check out our show at the artwalk next Friday June 3rd!

Save the Date Postcard Design

Our save the date postcard designs! They are finally mostly sent out so I can put it up. Designed by me- and Chris helped too! This was designed in Photoshop and Illustrator. This photo was taken at my old art college, Laguna Collage of Art and Design. The dress is from Elseware Vintage in Orange. For the back, I drew an sketch with ink and black watercolor. Art Show at the VioletHour Gallery

I ended 2010 and began 2011 successfully with showing at art walks! These pictures are from the December and January art show where I displayed cards, prints, and original pieces. It was loads of fun!

Huntington Beach Art Show December 2010

I am VERY behind on sharing pictures from last year's art shows. This is December's art show at the main street library in Huntington Beach. It was a fun time! Even with the preparation for the Holidays quite a few people showed. The librarian, Robin Ott was wonderful as well. What a treat to show at a library!

Mouse Adventures Continued..

This is a piece I sketched and painted today telling a piece of the story of the mouse's adventures as he travels all over the world on balloons. I have not come up with a name for mouse yet. It did not scan great because it was done on watercolor board but I will take a better picture of it tomorrow and put it up. This is a new piece, so any feedback and critique is welcome! Enjoy!
