Fifteen minutes before it is time to leave for yoga class I remember to draw my yoga teacher a belated Birthday card. So here is my 10 minute sketch of the day! It is supposed to sort of be my yoga teacher and his wife which also comes and helps teach the class, I sure love yoga!

Quick Sketch of the Day- Dogs and Birds

At yoga class, I gave someone an extra egg container because she said she collects them because they have chickens, and I got some free eggs this week! So, I decided to do a little sketch for them- and they said they like dogs and birds so here it is! The sketch of the day as I sat at our gallery show.

Tin Tub Saturday Night online book release!

My grandma, Liz Larrabee's compilation of memoirs is published today on amazon (cover illustration by yours truly), come get your very own copy today! Here is the link: Tin Tub Saturday Night . This is a collection of all of the stories and poems from all of her books, extra photos, and more! You will be transformed into a different time and place with this beautifully written book of vignettes from the 30's, stories I grew up on and will pass on. These stories are treasures. This is one of my favorites:

Reduce reuse recycle

I was about to go to bed when I was searching the web and found information about garbage landfills in the ocean and how the plastic is killing so much of the wildlife in the ocean. So, here is my five-minute comic about the life of plastic, not my usual cheery art, but a good message to help do our part!

Illustrated Booklet

Last weekend I attended the Grimm Storytelling event in Long Beach, (The poster I designed for it is in previous posts) where I read Hansel and Gretel and did a small activity on how to create an illustrated booklet- thanks to Barbara Malley for the idea! There were some really great speakers that also demonstrated different things such as flower arranging or hair design as it related to the Grimm Stories. In a world of video games and the rush of other technologies, it was nice to sit back and have a day of people telling stories to each other- like in the good old days! Below you will see the booklet process and my quickie booklet of Hansel and Gretel (as cats of course).

Here is the step-by-step worksheet I created for this event
Step two: Planning the story

Step three: Setting up the placement of images for the booklet
Step four: Color your story! I changed the placement of the booklet in photoshop so it is easier to see the story here.
Step five: Fold, and enjoy!

This piece is based on the game World of Warcraft, and each pet is a different class in the game. Who can guess which pet is which class?
