Mural Project- Day Six

Detail: Sleepy Owl & Squirrel

Ocean Side

Hill Side

I spent 4 hours this past Saturday working on filling in the remaining white areas and adding some textures mostly in the grass and bush area by the window. Next, the fun part! More textures, and definition in the characters. These are panorama compilations, kinda choppy but it gives you an idea. I would like to spend more time next week to get more done!

Ta da! Progress for the day!

I only spent 4 hours on this past Saturday since I had come down with the cold, but I had some help from Sharon and Paul which was super awesome! I am happy with the progress on the hill side of the mural which I focused on this time, it is almost entirely covered, I worked on cleaning up some edges, and we were able to get another layer on the green areas. It is almost ready for the more fine details and clean-up!!  Now to get better....

Sketch of the Day- Disneyland

This quick sketch of the day is for Evan and his daughter Temple and their Disneyland adventures of this week. Evan is a old friend, and it was great to catch up after many years! We had fun chasing Temple around and surviving thunderstorms in the jungle! Hope this captures the fun Daddy Daughter time!

Happy Valentines Day!

I Love You, Rain or Shine- Pen & Watercolor-4x5"
Here is a sketch of the day to say Happy Valentines Day to all around the world. Every day should be a day where we celebrate love for ourselves, friends, family, and lovers. The style I used is a bit more toned down than my usual bright colors, but I am having fun experimenting with limited palette and this one in particular is inspired by the delightful honest simplicity and sensitivity of the illustrations in the book Juniper that I adored growing up. There is really nothing like it, and I felt it fit the mood of this image. I would like to challenge you all to come up with what you think the inside text of this card should say, whoever comes up with the best, gets a copy of this sketch!
